Through our ties with the WFCMS we have helped Chinese cosmetics brands enter Spain. In the opposite direction, several Spanish brands have trusted OCCHE to handle the export of their products to China.
A market that imports more than it exports
The cosmetics market in China has grown very strongly year on year, and in 2015 imports of foreign cosmetics exceeded Chinese exports for the first time. This, combined with the rise of the online channel as a new distribution engine, opens many doors for the entry of European brands.
The entry condition is regulatory: notification or registration with the NMPA under the CSAR regulation, a responsible agent in China, Chinese labelling and a registered trademark in Latin script and in Chinese characters. OCCHE takes care of that part so that commercial negotiations start with an authorised product.
Chinese cosmetics in Spain
OCCHE and the company COSMÉTICOS LUNA signed an agreement to introduce a line of cosmetics in Spain. The head of the cosmetics section of the WFCMS (World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies) opened the door for us to use its distributors for direct selling. It is an example that the relationship works in both directions: we also support Chinese brands that want to comply with European regulations and find distribution in Spain.

Does the cross-border channel avoid NMPA registration?
