Medicine: integrative medicine and food supplements between China and Spain
We manage the integration of traditional Chinese medicine in clinics and health centres in Spain. In parallel, we contribute to the export and distribution in China of food supplements of Spanish origin.
The integrative medicine project
The signing of the agreement between OCCHE and the WFCMS (World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies) marked the start of the integrative medicine project, which seeks to combine traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine and to disseminate its results through the WFCMS Journal.
The project brings together leading public and private hospitals in China and Spain to incorporate minimally invasive traditional Chinese medicine treatments into rehabilitation therapies. The project's conferences, meetings and trips have appeared in the WFCMS yearbooks since 2013.
Spanish food supplements in China
China is a market with great potential for food supplements and is in a period of rapid development, driven by rising living standards, concern about food safety, pollution and the pressure of daily life.
Thanks to our institutional bridges we have access to the main points of sale: pharmacies and parapharmacies, direct selling, shopping centres and supermarkets, as well as the online channel. Before entry, we settle the product classification and, where applicable, its registration or notification, and we protect the trademark.
Frequently asked questions
What is the WFCMS?
The World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, under China's Ministry of Civil Affairs, is an academic association that promotes cooperation between traditional Chinese medicine and Western institutions. OCCHE has worked with it since the start of the integrative medicine project.
Can I export food supplements to China?
Yes, but the route depends on the claims and the ingredients: health food with registration or notification with the SAMR, ordinary food or the cross-border channel. OCCHE analyses your product and proposes the fastest and safest route.
Where are food supplements sold in China?
In pharmacies and parapharmacies, direct selling, shopping centres and supermarkets, and increasingly through the online and cross-border channels.
